Field Hockey Opportunities

Team Play Opportunities:  There will be Spring and Summer sessions offered at the Fredericksburg Field House, similar to what our winter team is doing.  There is also Field Hockey for Life in Charlottesville which will offer a Spring and Summer session.  With Field Hockey for life you try-out for  the team and if you make the team you pay the membership fee, which is around $400.  You practice in Culpeper and Charlottesville and have mandatory practices on Sunday's in Charlottesville to prepare for game play.  I have attached the links to both websites, and will keep you posted when new season information pops up.

I'm not available for the Spring because I am coaching Lacrosse but I am willing to help with those that want to play on a summer team.

Camps:  The camps costs are from $350 to $550 in price.  I would like to know how many are interested in going to a camp this summer.  Then I would like to coordinate those members.  It would be nice to get everyone to the same camp or possibly two different camps.  We do have an option to have a camp come to us in the summer, that would mean we need 30 girls to commit, and the cost would be $250 a player.  If we go this route it would probably be best to open it up to Eastern View also.  Please leave email me your thoughts and or ideas.

Playing in College:  Current sophomores and juniors who are "seriously" interested in playing field hockey in college need to let me know.  We will need to sit down and discuss what things they need to be doing to better than chances of getting picked up by a college team.

Summer Conditioning:  My thoughts are that conditioning will start the first week of June.  We will run it the same as last summer: morning conditioning on Tuesday's and Thursday's and pick-up games on Wednesday night.
Thanks, and have a great weekend!  I will post this same information on our blog, and on our facebook page.
